Some fatigue damages were found at the forks of low pressure turbine blades caused by random vibration and steam-flashback vibration. In this study, laser peening technology for 12Cr stainless steel was developed and the improvement of fatigue property was examined. As the results, the fatigue strength of laser peened specimens was improved about 40 percent compared to that of the unpeened specimens. A laser peening equipment was developed which could handle and peen the turbine blades successively.
