The CO_2 geological storage is considered as an effective technology to reduce CO_2 emissions into the atmosphere. Field tests of CO_2 geological storage are proceeding in many part of the world recently. However, the behavior of injected CO_2 remains incompletely understood. The CO_2 behavior, storage potential and risk of leakage from reservoirs must be accurately estimated to realize practicable CO_2 storage. For these reason, laboratory-scale experimental analysis of the CO_2 behavior in the sandstone is important issues. In this study, CO_2 distribution and its behavior in the water saturated sandstone were observed by X-ray CT with high spacial resolution. As the result, CO_2 distribution and its behavior in the sandstone were clearly visualized and analyzed.
