Abstract
Pool boiling heat transfer experiments for micro heat transfer surfaces were performed by using ethanol as test fluid. The experiments were conducted at 0.101 MPa. The test heat transfer surfaces were 20, 10, 7, 5, 3, 2 and 1 mm in diameter. The test heat transfer surfaces were made of copper. Electric heaters were attached at the back end of the test heat transfer surface. Boiling behavior was also recorded with a high speed video camera. The overall trend of the boiling heat transfer was well expressed with the Rohsenow correlation. As the diameter of the boiling surface became smaller, the boiling heat transfer was enhanced and the critical heat flux increased.
