Abstract
The system consists of four main parts, namely, desiccant rotor, sensible heat exchanger, indirect evaporative cooler and flat-plate solar collector. The objective of this research was to conduct a theoretical analysis to investigate the performance of desiccant air conditioning system with solar thermal collector (STC) under tropical climate zone in Bangkok, Thailand Weather conditions and solar irradiance on the 15th April 2012 were obtained by Meateonorm7 program. The system was calculated from steady state heat and mass balance in combination with of the unsteady state simulation of desiccant rotor. In the present work, simulation results enabled us to predict the feasibility of the cooling system During high solar irradiance period, the utilization of solar radiation, its energy source can be reduced the work load from the heater and consequently increased coefficient of performance (COP) system.
