Concentrating solar power (CSP) is one of the renewable energy which utilizes solar heat for generating electricity and Cross Linear system (CL) is a new solar concentrating system. Sun-tracking apparatus is called heliostat and mirrors are controlled with dual axes (rotation and elevation angle) in the CL heliostat. The tracking precision of the heliostat has great influence on the concentrating efficiency, a precise heliostat control method is needed. In this study, image processing control method has been developed for CL heliostat. Applying edge detection method, image processing program has been constructed. Rotation and elevation angle can be calculated from the processed picture of the mirror. With developed system, rotation and elevation angle was obtained using CL heliostat device in order to evaluate the control precision. We confirmed the availability of the system.
