Abstract

In recent years, for the purpose of greenhouse gas reduction such as carbon dioxide, various countermeasures are pushed forward in each of the industrial fields. Development of next-generation vehicle with mileage improvement technology is being carried out by the automotive industry. Along with such activities Calsonic Kansei has been exploring technological feasibility of a new way to reduce air conditioning power, which is one of the causes of the mileage deterioration. We focused on adsorption cooling system that can generate cooling energy by means of waste heat of a vehicle. This article describes the basic study on heat exchanger with composite adsorption materials. Potential consequences on the system performance are discussed as well.
