Abstract

Compression type refrigerator has been used as automotive air conditioner, so we need additional fuel for air conditioning. Absorption chiller is heat driven type refrigerator, so when we adapt it for automotive air conditioner and use with waste heat, it will reduce the fuel consumption. This project addresses the development of a compact absorption chiller which is suitable being used for automobile. The target value of specific cooling capacity is more than 50 kW/m3 or 0.1 kW/kg. To achieve the target value, lightening of constructional material and development of new absorbents are being conducted as research tasks.
