Influence of Ni-CeO2 composition as anode catalyst for a SOFC on discharge performance is evaluated. The terminal voltage between anode and reference electrode is influenced by CeO2 content in anode catalyst. In order to elucidate the mechanism, impedance analysis is conducted. Ohmic loss is almost constant from 0 to 30 mol% CeO2 content, however increase when ceria content is 40 mol% and higher. Activation loss shows complex behavior: it was highest when CeO2 content is 2 mol%, and it was lowest when CeO2 content is 30 mol%. These phenomena are explained by electric conductivity, porosity, and the presence or absence of sintering.
