Abstract
Exergy analysis is useful for inspecting the origin of the irreversible losses in the energy systems. Combustion in the system is supposed to be the major factor for the exergy loss. The computation processes and the mechanism of the exergy losses during combustion and minimizing the losses are described. The exergy analysis of the regenerative gas turbine system and fuel cell /GT hybrid system is conducted to indicate the exergy loss in the fuel cell is much smaller than that in the combustor in the gas turbine system.
