The experimental technique to measure the post-thaw viability of cells is presented. The temperature change of the surface of a microslide on a directional solidification cryomicroscope is measured to establish the freeze-thaw procedure with controlled thermal parameters. The temperature gradient that is used to calculate the cooling rate is evaluated as functions of the freezing temperature and moving velocity of the microslide. The preliminary results for the post-thaw viability is also presented.
