Abstract
Overall heat and mass transfer characteristics were measured for film-wise condensation from forced downward flow of air-steam mixtures upon a cooled horizontal cooled tube with range of bulk air mass fraction 10-55 wt%, range of Reynolds number 3000-7000,range of bulk to saturation temperature 10-40K. Heat transfer data were compared with Fujii's empirical correlation for low air mass fractions. Mass transfer data were compared with Fujii's theoretical predictions. It was found that heat and mass transfer rate were slightly larger than the previous predictions within the range of large air mass fractions.
