Abstract
An efficient seawater distillation equipment which performs evaporation and condensation simultaneously has been devised and built up. The equipment has double pipe structure which has an internal pipe for evaporation and an external pipe for condensation. The internal pipe filled with fresh seawater has an electric heater at upper part nearby the water surface and is supplied fresh seawater from the lower part, forming thermal stratified distribution. The internal pipe also has a condensation fin outside connecting to inner side of the pipe to use the latent heat of steam. This paper describes about outline and initial performance of the develop equipment.
