Reduction of pressure loss and enhancement of heat transfer of a two dimensional rectangular block on the wall of parallel channel were investigated by setting two rods on the wall upstream and downstream of the block. The height of the channel B was 30 mm. The side length and height, C and H, of the block were 30 and 60 mm and 15 mm, respectively. The mean velocity of the channel ranged from 2 to 10 m/s. The effects of the rod diameter and its position on the pressure loss and local heat transfer of the block were measured.
