Abstract
An impinging jet gives a higher heat transfer near the stagnation region and therefore it has been used in many industrial fields. In non-circular jet, it is well known there is a peculiar diffusion process called as "axis-switching" differing from in the case of two dimensional or an axi-symmetric jets and its location depends on the jet exit configuration. This paper describes the effect of aspect ratio (AR) on impinging heat transfer characteristics from a triangular orifice jet and also on the free jet flow characteristics using the visualization by the hydrogen bubble method.
