Abstract
The purpose of this research is development of Universal ITS simulator that can reproduce the interaction between driver's action and traffic flow. The driver model is assumed to be "Three-layer-model" composed of strategy, tactics, and operation layers. In this paper, parameter estimation from real data based on several human driver models proposed in the literature and validation of those models is discussed. For the operation layer, experimental data obtained from the driving simulator is employed, and for the tactics layer, traffic data observed from fixed-cameras is used for the calibration. The obtained human driver model makes possible to simulate much more realistic traffic simulation with interaction between human drivers and traffic flow.
