Abstract
We designed a low power and compact binocular robotic vision system. The system consists of two silicon retinas and FPGA circuits and can calculate depth and velocity in real-time. Algorithm of computation we developed is inspired by the hierarchical architecture of the neuronal network of the primary visual cortex. We applied the system to visual navigation of a mobile robot in a real environment.
