Abstract
Recently, the number of senior citizens living alone and taking medicines increases by declining birthrate and an aging population. Therefore, the caregiver of them bears the dosing management because the precariousness of the mistaking is high in cases of that situation. So, we propose the dosing support system that can instruct a correct dosing for the senior citizens and assist dosing management for the caregivers. The iMec (intelligent Medicine case) developed by us can not only detect the medicines in the medicine case using USB camera but also inform dosing timing and dosage using liquid crystal display and USB speaker. The ubiquitous sensors assist the iMec for deciding dosing timings by behavioral state estimation of senior citizen who taking medicines. We confirmed the validity of medicine detection method by experiments.
