Abstract
The conventional theoretical research of optical trap was limited for spherical objects. In this report, optical trapping force simulator (Optomech Solver-1) which can calculate force exerted on an arbitrary shaped object, has been developed. Using this simulator, we can improve the efficiency of development of "Optically Driven Nano-Machine" which we have already proposed for cell manipulation or other biological experiments. Optically Driven Nano-Machine has cylindrical trap points for the operator to handle the Nano-Machine. We calculated optical rotational torque exerted on a cylinder, and proved, by the simulator, the difference of optically trapped cylindrical postures depending on its height. Moreover, we successfully indicated the height range of trap point for stable drive of the Nano-Machine
