Abstract
This paper proposed an active-steering control system using human arm impedance properties for a human-driver system. Dynamic properties of a steering device manipulating by the driver's upper limbs is automatically regulated according to the damping coefficient of the overall system. The effectiveness of the proposed control system was demonstrated through the double-lane-change test with several human subjects by using the stationary driving simulator.
