Abstract
Robot Contest (Robocon) is a technical challenge for college students belonging to the mechanical engineering, in which, participants are required functions for there robots to solve given tasks such as line trace, pickup objects, and ball operation. Also, these robots are evaluated how quickly and correctly they did these tasks. Consequently, functions are mainly considered in the robot design. On the other hand, various robots coexist with human in the real society due to the growth of the robot technology (RT) standardization, which raise sensuousness of robot appearance. This paper describes two robots, the "Shade" and "Tekeko" for the 10th Memorial Robot Triathlon contest held in Sapporo Factory at October 2010. These robots have unique appearances based on quite differenct design concepts, and also are developed by quite different processes.
