Abstract
Recently, the development of the life support robot has been demanded with impact of the falling birthrate and the aging population. This research is development of a meal assistance robot with chopsticks that enables the patient to eat various types of foods by oneself. In this paper, basic concept of this robot, characteristic measurement of the food to determine proper grasping force, and method to eat rice in the rice bowl are studied.
