Abstract
This paper describes the three-dimentional measurement of facial feature points. The nostril part was picked up as a feature point. The human's face was observed by the stereo-camera in real time. Each nostril position of the two cameras was precisely detected through the binarization and labeling procedures. The depth position of the nostril was derived by the binocular parallax between the detected positions of the two cameras. Experimental results said that an error between the true value and estimated one was within about plus-minus 4mm. The developed system is expected for the application of the welfare support equipment concerned with a meal.
