Abstract
In this study, the movement performance of the spherical electromagnetic motor is discussed. The motor consists of the spherical rotor made of acrylic acid resin and the stator made of polyacetal resin. Permanent magnets are embedded in the rotor and five electromagnets are installed in the stator. The rotor can be driven by controlling the intensity and the direction of the electric currents sent into the electromagnets. The movement performance of the motor for an eight-figure motion by attractive and repulsive forces was better than that by only attractive force from the results of the operating tests.
