Abstract
Test model with three precision ball screws and three spur gears was manufactured in order to evaluate the positioning accuracy and the position keeping performance under heavy load by differential rotary to linear conversion mechanism. In the positioning accuracy test under a load of 515 N, the positioning accuracy of the test model was higher than that of the feed screw mechanism. In the position keeping performance test under a load of 515 N, it was confirmed that the test model had a position keeping performance for 600 s. These results revealed that the differential rotary to linear conversion mechanism had the positioning accuracy and the position keeping performance under heavy load.
