Abstract
The electromagnetic motors and ultrasonic motors cannot be used in a high temperature environment due to their Curie temperature. For example in the case of conventional ultrasonic motors using PZT ceramics, the maximum temperature condition is 150 degree C. In this research, high Curie temperature material, lithium niobate single crystal was examined for high temperature environment transducer. Its Curie temperature is 1210 degree C and the single crystals are available in the market with a reasonable cost because this material is in practical use as surface acoustic wave filters. The multilayered lithium niobate single crystals were assembled and the Langevin transducer was fabricated. The high power vibration performance in high temperature conditions were compared to that of the PZT ceramic transducers.
