Abstract
The humanitarian demining robot Gryphon can automate sensing of minefields using mine metal detectors, which signal's analysis can lead to landmine/metal fragments discrimination, greatly improving efficiency of the entire landmine detection and removal operations. In this paper, a new scanning procedure is introduced, which optimizes scanning time while keeping a good landmine/metal fragments discrimination performance.
