Abstract
In this research, our final aim is to develop an isokinetic equipment for the lower limb using ER (electro rheological) fluid brake. ER fluid is functional fluid of which apparent viscosity changes with the magnitude of the electric field impressed. Passive speed control for the lower limb training can be performed by the high speed response of ER fluid, using only brake element to maintain essential safety. As a basic research, the speed control of a motor by the ER fluid brake is performed in this paper. The control method based on I-P control and IP control are introduced.
