Abstract
Recognition in respect to pedaling skill has been widely difference among cyclists. It has been considered that the pedaling skill has an effect on his/her competitive performance of cyclists. However, unquestioning definition of pedaling skill has not been established. Then this study aims to propose a way to evaluate the pedaling skill by using mechanical information that can be measured in pedaling motion. In this paper, we firstly introduce the experimental environment that measures mechanical information of a bicycle and electromyography of leg muscle occurred in pedaling motion. Our experimental results show the difference of pedaling skill between a skilled cyclist and two beginner subjects.
