Abstract
In this paper, we propose the contactless coupler for signal transmission between adjacent two-dimensional communication (2DC) tiles that apply 2DC technology to entire floor of room. Tolerance of positioning error between a pair of couplers and flatness of frequency characteristics are required to implement tiles easily and keep the frequency characteristics of signals. Simulation is conducted to ensure the feasibility of the coupler based on coplanar strip line (CPS). Coupler is fabricated and experimental results shows tolerance is 2.0 mm and the difference of insertion loss between the maximum and the minimum is 1.5 dB. From those results, we show the fabricated coupler can satisfy the requirements.
