Abstract

Now, major earthquake and nuclear accident are a serious social problem. We need some robots, which carry out rescue operation and inspection of an infrastructure in these extreme environment. In this paper, we develop a drilling tool which operable in a small pipe and a radioactive environment. Using an air turbine as actuator enable drilling tool to operate in these environment. We design a new drilling tool and assess rotating efficiency from the measuring torque and rotating speed experiment.
