Abstract

This paper outlines a novel human-human interface based on a combination of functional electrical stimulation (FES) and electromyogram (EMG) pattern classification to support the evaluation and control of muscle contraction patterns for patients. The authors also explain the evaluation results for evaluation of perception characteristics of FES for the effective motor skill learning support using the human-human interface. Experimental results suggest that the user can sense a change in the stimulation level and contraction pattern via FES.
