Abstract

The present paper explains the developed steering interface device, and reports the experimental results of perception properties of reaction force in steering operations by the arms. The results shows that the perception properties changes in the limbs' posture as well as the control strategies of steering operation. The efficacy of hand forces in the steering torque is also investigated according to the experimental conditions. The deviation of perceived values and efficacy tends to be larger in the case of active movements.
