Abstract

We are developing a pedestrian navigation system for visually impaired person which can guide to a destination along a route. A 3D range sensor which is mounted on the waist obtains the current location and orientation of user. Also, belt-type vibration device which is mounted on the waist presents a direction of travel. In this paper, we propose a guidance system for routes including stairs.
