Due to population increase response and convenience improvement in urban areas, high-rise buildings are increasing. Excavating works such as pile driving are performed, because the strong foundation is necessary for building high-rise buildings. At that time, for the purpose of holding the excavated part, as a stabilizer, large amounts of muddy water mainly containing bentonite are used. Many of muddy water is disposed of as industrial waste construction sludge, and reduction is desired from the viewpoint of environmental burden. Sewage of high moisture content can be reused by separating moisture. Therefore, in order to separate the moisture of the sludge, we focused attention on the separation action of moisture by the intestine. It is possible to separate moisture from a large quantity of digests in a small space using intestinal peristaltic motion which contracts and relaxes wall muscles. Based on peristaltic motion, we thought that we could develop a compact separator capable of separating moisture from a large amount of sludge. In this paper, we develop a variable filter unit with a filter attached to a peristaltic pump and observe its water permeability performance, and we conducted a solid-liquid separation experiment using a solid-liquid separation and a peristaltic motion pump when pressurized inside the tube and show the utility of this unit.
