Abstract

This paper proposes a method for automatic evaluation of red blood cell using a microfluidic chip. The evaluation is based on cell velocity and deformation through parallel microchannels. In conventional works, the evaluation is performed by a human analyst for reliability, but it takes enormous time and manpower. By the proposed method, we not only save the time and manpower but also keep the same reliability. The results show that the evaluation speed is significantly improved by at least 20 times by the proposed method. The difference between the results by the conventional method and the proposed method is less than 7.08%.
