Abstract

Tactile stimuli generated by tactile display normally can only be perceived by the user. However, the sound of high-frequency stimuli such as the collision vibration can also be heard by others. In order to reduce the sound of collision vibration generated by the tactile display, we use a low-frequency collision vibration to represent the high-frequency collision vibration. Our results showed that the collision vibration of low-frequency 250 Hz could have a similar sensation as the collision vibration of high-frequency 500 Hz while the sound pressure level can be reduced.
