Abstract

In this paper, we study moving mechanism which using Archimedean screw as a means of running on the water or marshy areas. Archimedean screw is composed of a helical blade and a cylinder, to discharge the substance with rotation. This screw can make thrust by dischaging the substance. This mechanism is suitable for running on the water or marshy areas, when it is used for moving mechanism. In this study, we designed the prototype mobile robot with Archimedean screw to be fit of behavior on the water or marshy areas. We conduct some experiments with basic motions which are forward, backward, right turn and left turn.
