Abstract

For the back pain prevention, the amount of muscle activity related to the body trunk such as lumbar erector spinae and external oblique is measured by using the balance ball as an office chair. According to the measurement, in motion that move only the lumbar region without moving the head, the external oblique was performing muscle activity more than the lumbar erector spinae is confirmed. That indicates effectiveness to train the abdominal muscles when the balance ball is using as an office chair. Furthermore, from the shape of elastic ball and the sphere which the balance ball possesses, muscle activity of lower limbs is also obtained.
