In recent years, the research related to autonomous and remote-controlled ships has become the major topic in the maritime field. In these ships maneuvering, captured images with cameras are transmitted to a remote place via wireless communication and used to understand the surrounding situation. In order to recognize obstacles as far as possible, high image quality is required and the data volume is also large. On the other hand, when transmitting this captured image to the remote place, it is preferable that the data volume is small in order not to cause delay. In this research, the influence of camera setting on data volume is examined.
