Abstract

In this study, we address an overall optimization method for a vehicle-dispatching system to meet the demands of all users and vehicle states. We propose a hybrid-optimization algorithm combining a Genetic Algorithm (GA) and a sequential optimal insertion method. An efficient operational plan can be found within a limited computation time. The system is designed to be flexible that the operating schedule can be changed in response to sudden events such as incoming demands, demand cancellation and troubles of vehicles. We developed a simulator for the vehicle-dispatching system and confirmed the feasibility of the proposed method through experiments.
