Abstract

In recent years in Japan, the problem of aging has become serious, and there is concern about a shortage of care workers and nurses in the future, and low back pain is a problem that can cause them to leave their jobs. In this research, our purpose of this paper is to detect twisting motion using a three-axis sensor in order to develop a smart device that solves the problem of low back pain in the field of long-term care and nursing. An algorithm to detect the twist was formulated from the experiment. We decided to use moving average of X-axis accelaration from the experiment. Then, it was verified and its effectiveness was confirmed. Our future prospects are correspondence to other movements and improved accuracy.
