Abstract

In this study, we conducted a user experience testing using our prosthetic hand for actual myoelectric prosthetic hand users. In this report, we describe the design of the prosthetic hand and the results of user experience testing. The design of the prosthetic hand was such that it could be connected to the joint part of the socket used by the subject, and the length of the forearm part could be adjusted according to the user's physique. In the test, we grasped various objects that were assumed to be used in daily life. As the results, we succeeded in grasping a stuffed animal, stacking blocks, and pulling out tissue paper. In addition, the subjects stated that the prosthetic hand was easy to operate in terms of quick movements and that they felt less stress when regrasping. This indicates that the prosthetic hand in this study, which uses pneumatic artificial muscles to achieve quick movement speed, is useful.
