In many cases of hemiplegia or other abnormal walking, asymmetry gait motion is observed, such as decreasing of its stride, velocity and stability of walking behavior. In this study, we have proposed a walking assist system by using motion transmission from unaffected side of the user without power sources. However, it has problem for the efficiency of motion transmission caused by phase difference between legs. In this report, an energy charging mechanism to compensate the differences has been designed. And trial manufacture of the main mechanism and a part of unaffected side have done. They are able to be mounted on the users’ body at trunk and thighs. This paper aims to provide the design and simulation results of the proposed mechanism and the energy charging system.
