Abstract

A new walking guidance system which enables visually impaired people to walk without any preinformation about the environment is introduced in thie paper. It uses motion guidance system with multimodal display of spatial audio and vibration. This system enabled a person with blindfold to walk and avoid obstacles in an indoor environment. It was confirmed that motion guidance function of the system was feasible with experiments and total system will work well.
