Abstract

In recent years, the population of agricultural workers is declining and aging in Japan. Therefore, the management of weeding on the levee slope is a heavy burden. As part of new agriculture, research and development of levee slope weeding robots is progressing rapidly. However, as critical problem, there is the occurrence of sideslip when crossing a slope. In previous studies, the camber angle mechanism was proposed, and then its effectiveness was verified by some traveling experiments on slope. However, it was found that the blades for the mowing mechanism made the surface of ground contact directly. Therefore, this study proposes the weeding cutting vehicle with“ Outrigger Arm ”to reduce sideslip during working on steep slope. Actually, the effectiveness of proposed vehicle was confirmed by some traveling tests on real state.]
