Abstract

In recent years, the need for efficient food production and sustainability has led farmers to favor agricultural robots. These robots are being deployed to speed up farming operations with minimal human intervention. On the other hand, as farmers are expected to continue aging and retiring, these advanced technologies will be useful to pass on the skills of skilled farmers. The ultimate goal of this study is to measure the daily light exposure received by food plants and to estimate the amount of photosynthesis. Therefore, we propose a method to calculate the amount of photosynthesis using image processing. As a result, it was found that there is a correlation between illuminance and the brightness (V) in HSV color space. This made it possible to estimate the amount of light received from the color of the leaves.
