Abstract

This research aims to reduce driver fatigue during long hours of driving, which will help prevent traffic accidents. The experiment will be conducted by reproducing 95 minutes of driving using a driving simulator and measuring biometric information. Objective evaluation of fatigue will be conducted using the fingertip volumetric pulse wave method, and subjective evaluation of fatigue will be conducted using a questionnaire. In addition to that, we will propose and validate a method to estimate fatigue in the lower back and muscular exertion during prolonged driving by evaluating fatigue in the lower back using near-infrared spectroscopy. By proceeding with this research, it will be possible to measure not only the fatigue of the whole body but also the fatigue of each detailed muscle.
