Abstract

In recent years, various efforts have been made to support the social participation of the visually impaired. As part of these efforts, walking support systems have been studied, however there is a problem that they are vulnerable to changes in the surrounding environment. Therefore, we aim to develop the system for the visually impaired that reflects the ever-changing information of the surrounding environment of pedestrians using Sub-GHz band radio and GNSS. In the study, a method to correctly identify the pedestrian's obstacle avoidance and direction change movements is investigated in order to improve the accuracy of the system and to eliminate the pedestrian's anxiety when changing direction.
