In order to reduce the emissions of the engine vehicles, a Real Driving Emission (RDE) test procedure for type approval was started. It is necessary to estimate the emissions correctly by the RDE test as well as the chassis dynamometer test. So, we developed the driving robot, which enables trace the target vehicle speed on these tests precisely. In this study, we modified the driver model of this robot. In particular, the modified model dealt with driving on slopes and creep driving conditions. Furthermore, we added the operating logic of accelerator pedal and brake pedal corresponding to the various human driving characteristics. We applied a new logic to our in-house robot and verified it. We confirmed the proper operation of the pedals and trace ability for the target vehicle speed, which is the real driving pattern. As the result, we concluded that the use of a driving robot at the chassis dynamometer test and RDE test were effective.
