Abstract

Technologies utilizing air pressure and flow take advantage of various phenomena related to the properties of air. In this study, we focus on a phenomenon known as the Coanda effect, where a jet stream is bent along the surface of an object. In this process, the jet stream exerts a force in the direction of the object, and as a reaction, the object is drawn toward the jet stream. Leveraging this property, we developed a thin suction device that clings to the surface of an object, and we investigated its suction force.
